A bit about me
Born in Texas and raised in Arkansas, I come from a family of car enthusiasts. So I have an interest in taking things apart and analyzing how something works from the inside out. That mindset helped develop part of my artistic process, breaking down steps and analyzing the cause and effects. My process involves thinking in future tense and how my work will have an impact on the eyes that they reach. Everything is connected and weaved as close to perfection as can be, every little detail.

Artist Bio
Johan Velazquez is a graphic designer and photographer from Hope, Arkansas who tends to label himself as a perfectionist and very precise on whatever he works on. His work consists of various typographic elements, uniquely bold, and clever thought about how a design element may tie back to the project in a contextual way. Artists like Stefan Sagmeister have influenced his bold style and how Johan pushes the limits of his designs. Johan is also experienced in traditional mediums such as drawing and sketching, which are also used in his projects. Velazquez also has experience creating graphic posters, business cards, and even billboards thanks to an internship he had at Beyond Fit Deli, a local health deli. Photography is another strength in Johan’s skillset that he uses whenever the opportunity arises. Just as meticulous he is in his designs, he’s as equally precise with his photographs. Whether for a client or as a hobby, a lot of thought is put into each composition and exposure. His clever use of typographic and color combinations create a fun and alluring layout that stands out to the audience. Clever planning ties back any element to the design contextually to add a layer of mystery and thought whether digital, photographic or traditional.
