What do you get when you combine blueberries and asparagus? Nothing– just the random fruit and vegetable I was assigned for this project where we had to create packaging for a baby food product. This assignment took a lot of thinking and brainstorming to get to where it is now, countless scrapped ideas and concepts.

At first it was supposed to be simply blueberries and asparagus with cute packaging, but my professor decided to throw us a curveball and told us it had to be in a different form. For example, they had to be flavored chips, juice, or even asparagus flavored cake! I opted for oven baked asparagus heads and freeze dried blueberries.

With this in mind, I decided to make my design a more organic one. In order to achieve this I took some inspiration from already existing organic packaging. I included a recyclable paper background image and made sure all designs were cohesive with this artistic direction. The result was a design that was well received and praised for its realism.
