Creating a brand identity of a company is a graphic designer's bread and butter, so of course I had to have an assignment that had me create such a thing. We were asked to create an ice cream brand and make a logo for it, along with a menu, a promotional poster, business cards, and even an animation using Adobe After Effects.

It was my first time touching After Effects, not to mention jumping in blind. Thankfully I'm built to float not sink, I put on my creative hat and created an animation I can be proud of for it being my first. My poster promoted a fictional “flavor of the month” using some typographic hierarchy and quirky designs came out strong, while my business card contained made up information on how to reach the pretend CEO & founder, yours truly (me)! But my menu is probably the magnum opus of the series, even though production was a pain in the rear, a circular-rotating menu isn’t something you see everyday. In total there are 11 pages, 10 of which contain all available flavors of this made up ice cream brand.

This project was a pleasant experience as having to work on multiple projects as a series makes me feel more accomplished. Hopefully I’m able to do more work like this in the future for real clients!
